JDM MR2 Turbo first registered in the UK in August 1999 so almost 10 years old when it arrived here. It's been dry stored for around 10 years when we came across it, it's had its bonnet hinges removed and there are some dings and dents around the car but no evidence of crash damage. More importantly it's not rotten in the usual MR2 places like rear boot pockets spare wheel well & inner sills, the interior is stripped out with bucket seats with 4 point harness seatbelts and has a limited slip diff gearbox, a roll cage with side intrusion bars and a huge rear spoiler. It also has what looks like a brand new windscreen installed with an aftermarket rubber seal and it's also had 'Lexus' style rear lights fitted.

 

The car has slotted disk's all round and yellow Bilstein shock absorbers, 16" wheels and generally looks to have been well spec'd in its day and is still a very 'straight' car with the exception of the bonnet, the hinges have also been removed but good used are readily available. It's also had a later rev2/3 gearchange system to give the better shift but retains the rev1 gear leaver, a later front spoiler has been fitted.

 

The car had no sparks when we bought it but following an overhaul of the ECU by John Mears it's now 'off the key' and driving well, in my opinion the body is straight enough to go back on the road with the addition of an interior, some paint correction and a couple of 'dent man' repairs would make a really presentable car, but that's up to the next owner.

It has had a couple of patches welded on the outer sills, it's had a solid job done on these.
